Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the MSDE. The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
PMKVY is India’s largest skill certification scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective is to enable and mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up outcome based skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood.
Placement refers to providing wage - or self-employment to candidates, trained and certified under PMKVY. PMKVY envisages to link the aptitude, aspiration, and knowledge of the skilled workforce with employment opportunities and demands in the market.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is skill-based training scheme started by the government of India. Under the PMKVY 2.0 scheme, Indian nationals can join skill-based training course and pursue education with free of cost.

What is the definition of placements under PMKVY 2016-2020 ?
A candidate is considered to be placed if the candidate fulfils the following conditions:
1. Candidate is certified and placed.
2. Candidates is placed within 90 days of certification.
3. Candidate is in continuous employment (wage or self-employment) for 3 months.
